Navas Driving SchoolFAQ's

Is Navas Driving School an approved driving school in Minnesota?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Minnesota.  We highly recommend that you contact Navas Driving School directly or the Minnesota DMV to find out for sure if Navas Driving School offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of Minnesota.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Minnesota?
Each state has its own rules regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised behind-the-wheel training as a substitute for taking a driver training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Minnesota DMV to find out for sure.
What happens if I don't know how to operate a manual-shift vehicle? Will Navas Driving School allow me to do my driver training with an automatic-shift car?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about driving any type of car--manual-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Navas Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their driver training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and bumpy terrain. Will Navas Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like Navas Driving School will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
I'm turning 14 in a few days. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in Minnesota after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for an instruction permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Minnesota DMV office or a Minnesota-certified driving school such as Navas Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Do I have to complete a Minneapolis Minnesota drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Navas Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Navas Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
