Driver Training AcademyFAQ's

Driver Training Academy is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if Driver Training Academy is a certified school in Colorado?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Colorado DMV.  We suggest you contact Driver Training Academy directly or the Colorado DMV to find out if Driver Training Academy is a fully-accredited driver training school.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to complete your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Driver Training Academy have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Driver Training Academy to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a non-urban area? Will Driver Training Academy include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other rugged?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like Driver Training Academy will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
I just turned 14 years old. Am I eligible to receive my instruction permit in Colorado?
Probably not.  The minimum age requirement for holding a learners permit in most states is 15 1/2.  You should contact the Colorado Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driver training institute such as Driver Training Academy to find out more information about the minimum age requirement in Colorado.
Will I be required to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in Colorado Springs Colorado?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to enroll in both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
