Alamo City Driving SchoolFAQ's

Since Alamo City Driving School is listed on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the Texas DMV.  You may want to call Alamo City Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Will the Texas DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice as a substitute to taking a behind-the-wheel driving course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the Texas DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in Texas.
Do I need to tell Alamo City Driving School that I need to train with an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know how to drive a stick-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a manual-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Alamo City Driving School if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift car before you sign up to take their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will Alamo City Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain town, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Alamo City Driving School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in Texas?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Alamo City Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in Texas.
