T&D Driving AcademyFAQ's

Since T&D Driving Academy is listed on your website, does this mean they are approved by the Texas DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driver training schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the Texas DMV.  You may want to call T&D Driving Academy directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to complete your hands-on driver training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you check with your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will T&D Driving Academy have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my behind-the-wheel training?
Since you're enrolling in a Greenville Texas behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let T&D Driving Academy know what your preference is before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and bumpy terrain. Will T&D Driving Academy train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a rural area, chances are very good that a local driver training school like T&D Driving Academy will want you to be trained in driving specific to the local area's terrain.
Can 14-year-olds obtain learner's permits to drive in Texas?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for a learner's permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to obtain an instruction permit.  You may want to contact the Texas DMV or a Texas-approved driver training school like T&D Driving Academy to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Texas.
Do you know if the laws in Texas require new teen-aged drivers to register for a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to register for a driver training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course.
