Gino's Driving SchoolFAQ's

Is Gino's Driving School an approved driving school in California?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer hands-on driving courses in California.  We highly recommend that you contact Gino's Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out for sure if Gino's Driving School offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of California.
Will the California DMV allow my parents to supervise my driving practice instead of requiring me to take a behind-the-wheel training course at a state-approved driving school?
Possibly.  Some states will allow your parents to supervise your driving practice in place of taking a driver training course with a professional driving instructor.  You will need to contact the California DMV to find out if your behind-the-wheel driving may be done by your parents in California.
Do you know if Gino's Driving School will let me take my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Gino's Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a rural area, that has a lot of dirt roads and rugged terrain. Will Gino's Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH city AND rural environments?
If you live in a remote area, chances are very good that a local driving school like Gino's Driving School will want you to be taught how to drive safely on the local area's terrain.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Gino's Driving School or the California DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in California.
Do I have to complete a Poway California drivers education classroom course or online course before registering for one of Gino's Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online drivers education course.  You may want to ask Gino's Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I am looking to sign up to take a Poway California drivers education course. Can Gino's Driving School assist me with this?
Yes.  defensive driving courses are available in Poway California through Gino's Driving School.  Please contact Gino's Driving School directly with questions regarding their schedule of classes and registration information.
What do I need to do to get a driver's license in Poway California?
It depends on California's laws, but most states require new, teen-aged drivers to complete a safe driving classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call Gino's Driving School to see if they offer the behind-the-wheel training course that would meet the regulations set forth by the California DMV.
Is it necessary for me to sign up for a driver training course in order to get my first California driver's license?
Yes, it is.  All teen-aged drivers applying for their first driver's license in California are required to take a state-approved driver training course.
Is it okay for me to sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training class in California before I receive my California instruction permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their instruction permit before they are allowed to sign up to take a behind-the-wheel training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like Gino's Driving School and request more information.
