Hoosier Driving AcademyFAQ's

How do I know if Hoosier Driving Academy is licensed by Indiana's DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
While we do include Hoosier Driving Academy's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Hoosier Driving Academy is certified by the State of Indiana.  We recommend that you either contact Hoosier Driving Academy directly or possibly the Indiana DMV to find out if Hoosier Driving Academy is a licensed driver training school.
Do you know if I can complete my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like Hoosier Driving Academy?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the Indiana DMV or Hoosier Driving Academy directly to find out if Indiana allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
Do you know if Hoosier Driving Academy will let me take my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Hoosier Driving Academy and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their driver training course.
I live in a small rural community, where there are a lot of small, unpaved roads. Will my behind-the-wheel training with Hoosier Driving Academy include learning how to drive in rural areas? Or do they just offer training for urban driving?
Most local driving schools will likely want their students to know how to drive safely in the local area.  Therefore, chances are good that the behind-the-wheel training you receive from Hoosier Driving Academy will include handling dirt roads and mountain driving.
Can I get my Indiana instruction permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain a learner's permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the Indiana Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driver training school like Hoosier Driving Academy to learn more about the minimum age requirement in Indiana.
Will I be required to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in Plymouth Indiana?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete both a drivers education course as well as a driver training course.
I'm required to take a defensive driving course in Plymouth Indiana. Do you know if Hoosier Driving Academy offers driver training classes in Plymouth Indiana?
Yes, Hoosier Driving Academy does offer driver training courses in Plymouth Indiana.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to enroll in one of their defensive driving courses, please contact Hoosier Driving Academy directly.
How do I obtain a drivers license in Plymouth Indiana?
In most states, pre-licensed teens are required to complete both a classroom drivers education course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Hoosier Driving Academy may be able to help you fulfill the driver training portion in Indiana.
What are the laws in Indiana concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  Indiana law states that new drivers successfully complete an approved behind-the-wheel training course as a prerequisite to obtaining their first driver's license.
Do I have to obtain my learner's permit in Indiana before I am allowed to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course like the one Hoosier Driving Academy gives its students?
