Buffalo Driving SchoolsFAQ's

How do I know if Buffalo Driving Schools is certified by New York's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Buffalo Driving Schools's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Buffalo Driving Schools is licensed by the State of New York.  We recommend that you either contact Buffalo Driving Schools directly or possibly the New York DMV to find out if Buffalo Driving Schools is a licensed driver training school.
Could I just have my mother or father give me my behind-the-wheel training instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to do your behind-the-wheel training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that new drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Buffalo Driving Schools have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Buffalo Driving Schools to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live in a very remote area, where there are mountains and a lot of dirt roads. Do you know if Buffalo Driving Schools offers training for driving in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in city areas?
Since you live in a rural area, a local driving school such as Buffalo Driving Schools will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
Can I apply for my New York learner's permit once I turn 14?
Most likely, no.  Most states have set the youngest age to obtain an instruction permit at 15 or 15½.  You may want to contact the New York Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driver training school like Buffalo Driving Schools to learn more about the minimum age requirement in New York.
Can I take Buffalo Driving Schools's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Buffalo New York drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what New York's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on New York's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Buffalo Driving Schools directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
