Babb Driving SchoolFAQ's

How do I know if Babb Driving School is licensed by South Carolina's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Babb Driving School's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Babb Driving School is certified by the State of South Carolina.  We recommend that you either contact Babb Driving School directly or possibly the South Carolina DMV to find out if Babb Driving School is a certified driver training school.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in South Carolina?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for attending a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the South Carolina DMV to find out for sure.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Babb Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Spartanburg South Carolina behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Babb Driving School know what your preference is before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live in a very rural area, where there are mountains and a lot of unpaved roads. Do you know if Babb Driving School teaches students how to drive in rural areas like where I live instead of just driving on smooth, paved roads in urban areas?
Since you live in a remote area, a local driving school such as Babb Driving School will tailor your driver training to handle the conditions in your area.
Are 14-year-olds eligible to obtain a instruction permit in South Carolina?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to receive a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction company like Babb Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in South Carolina.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Spartanburg South Carolina or do I also have to enroll in a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the South Carolina's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to register for a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
South Carolina law says that I must enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get licensed to drive in Spartanburg South Carolina. Is this something that Babb Driving School can help me with?

What does the law in South Carolina say about driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  South Carolina law states that new drivers take an approved behind-the-wheel training course as a prerequisite to obtaining their first driver's license.
Is it okay for me to register for a driver training class in South Carolina before I receive my South Carolina instruction permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their instruction permit before they are allowed to sign up to take a driver training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like Babb Driving School and request more information.
