HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL*FAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-licensed by the New Jersey DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in New Jersey?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently accredited to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in New Jersey.  We suggest you contact the New Jersey DMV to make sure a particular driver training school is licensed before you enroll in their driver training course.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to enroll in a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to do your hands-on driver training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* and let them know before you enroll in their driver training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before enrolling in their training course.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to apply for a instruction permit in New Jersey?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like HOWELL AUTO DRIVING SCHOOL* to find out what the minimum age for driving is in New Jersey.
Will I be required to complete both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in HOWELL New Jersey?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now mandate new teen-aged drivers to sign up for both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
