Driving ForceFAQ's

Is Driving Force a certified driving school in Mississippi?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer driver training courses in Mississippi.  We highly recommend that you contact Driving Force directly or the Mississippi DMV to find out for sure if Driving Force offers behind-the-wheel training courses that have been approved by the State of Mississippi.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in Mississippi?
Each state has its own rules regarding driver training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for attending a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the Mississippi DMV to find out for sure.
Do I need to tell Driving Force that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to drive a manual-shift automobile.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift automobile!  We recommend that you ask Driving Force if you can complete your driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle before you enroll in their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will Driving Force include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driving school like Driving Force will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular locale.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Driving Force or the Mississippi DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Mississippi.
Can I take Driving Force's behind-the-wheel training course before taking a Southaven Mississippi drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what Mississippi's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a defensive driving classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on Mississippi's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend that you contact Driving Force directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
Mississippi's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Driving Force offers this course or not?
Driving Force does offer the driver training course that Mississippi requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Driving Force offers, we recommend that you contact Driving Force directly.
What steps do I have to take in order to get a Mississippi drivers license in Southaven Mississippi?
Most states require that teen-agers who are applying for their first driver's license complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Driving Force may be able to help you meet the behind-the-wheel training portion in Mississippi.  Please contact Driving Force for more information.

Is hands-on driver training required in Mississippi in order to be licensed to drive a car?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Mississippi are required to take an approved hands-on driver training course before they can be issued a license to independently operate a motor vehicle.
Can I register for a Mississippi-approved behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my Mississippi instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that require a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Mississippi learners permit before registering in a Mississippi driver training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Driving Force and ask for more information.
