Benavides Driving SchoolFAQ's

Can you tell me if Benavides Driving School is a licensed driving school in Texas?
Although Benavides Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach driver training courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling Benavides Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Benavides Driving School offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
I've been told that either of my parents can monitor my behind-the-wheel training, so I don't have to attend a Mission Texas driving school like Benavides Driving School to fulfill my behind-the-wheel training requirement. Do you know if that's true or not?
You will need to contact the Texas DMV or a state-approved driving school like Benavides Driving School to find out.  Some states do allow parent-taught driving, but many states do not.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does Benavides Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a stick-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call Benavides Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their driver training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are unpaved roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if Benavides Driving School will train me on how to drive in a rural area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Benavides Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Benavides Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rugged terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Benavides Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you register with them.
I'm turning 14 in a few weeks. Can I get a learner's permit to drive in Texas after my 14th birthday?
Most likely, no.  Most states (though not all) have laws which require that you be at least 15 or 15 1/2 before to be eligible to apply for an instruction permit.  Nevertheless, you may wish to contact the Texas DMV office or a Texas-certified driving school such as Benavides Driving School to find out for certain what the minimum driving age is in your local area.
Do I have to complete a Mission Texas drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Benavides Driving School's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own rules, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Benavides Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
I'm required to take a driver training course in Mission Texas. Do you know if Benavides Driving School offers defensive driving classes in Mission Texas?
Yes, Benavides Driving School does offer defensive driving courses in Mission Texas.  For more information about their class schedule and how/when to sign up for one of their driver training courses, please contact Benavides Driving School directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Texas driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to complete both a driver training course in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Texas DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to fulfill in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Do I have to take a Mission Texas driver training course in order to get a driver's license?
