Transitions Driving AcademyFAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the Texas DMV to offer driver training courses in Texas?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in Texas.  We suggest you contact the Texas DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you sign up to take their driver training course.
I heard that parents can fill the role of driving supervisor in Texas, so taking a Mesquite driving school course like the one Transitions Driving Academy offers is not necessary. Is that true?
You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driver training school like Transitions Driving Academy and ask them.  While parent-taught driving instruction is permitted in some states, many states do NOT allow it.
Do you know if Transitions Driving Academy will let me complete my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Transitions Driving Academy and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Transitions Driving Academy train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain area, chances are that a local driving school like Transitions Driving Academy will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Transitions Driving Academy or the Texas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Texas.
I live in Mesquite Texas. Does the law say I have to successfully complete both a driver ed classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do require that new, teen-aged drivers take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
Texas law says that I must successfully complete a behind-the-wheel training course in order to get licensed to drive in Mesquite Texas. Is this something that Transitions Driving Academy can help me with?
Yes, Transitions Driving Academy offers the Texas-approved hands-on driver training course.  For more information about their classes and instruction schedule, please contact Transitions Driving Academy directly.
Do I have to take drivers education to get a Texas driver's license?
Drivers education requirements vary depending on which state you live in, but you should be aware that most states require new, teen-aged drivers to register for both a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a safe driving classroom or online course.  You may wish to contact the Texas DMV to find out exactly what requirements you will need to satisfy in order to obtain your first driver's license.
Is there a law in Texas that requires me to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Texas requires that all teen-agers take an approved behind-the-wheel training course before receiving a Texas driver's license.
Is it possible to register for a Texas-approved behind-the-wheel training course before I obtain my Texas instruction permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Texas, however most states require first-time drivers to receive an learners permit before signing up for a driver training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Transitions Driving Academy to obtain more information.
