Killeen Driving SchoolFAQ's

Can you tell me if Killeen Driving School is a certified driving school in Texas?
Although Killeen Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently approved to teach behind-the-wheel training courses in Texas.  We recommend either calling Killeen Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out whether or not Killeen Driving School offers driver training courses that are state-approved.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my behind-the-wheel training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Killeen Driving School?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Texas DMV or a licensed driving school like Killeen Driving School to find out if Texas allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
Do you know if Killeen Driving School will let me take my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a manual OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Killeen Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their driver training course.
What happens to those of us who live in a remote area? Will Killeen Driving School include instruction on how to drive on dirt roads, mountain roads, and other bumpy terrain?
If you live in a rural location, there is a high probability that a local driver training school like Killeen Driving School will either want--or even be required--to tailor their instruction towards driving safely in your particular area.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to get my learner's permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a learner's permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Killeen Driving School or the Texas DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Texas.
Do you know if the laws in Texas require new teen-aged drivers to take a behind-the-wheel training course in addition to a driver ed classroom or online course?
The laws vary from state to state, but many states do require you to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course with "hands-on" practice in addition to a drivers education classroom or online course.
Texas's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if Killeen Driving School offers this course or not?
Killeen Driving School does offer the driver training course that Texas requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Killeen Driving School offers, we recommend that you contact Killeen Driving School directly.
Exactly what type of driver training do I need in Killeen Texas before I can get my Texas driver's license?
The prerequisites for getting a driver's licenses vary from state to state, however most states now require teen-agers who are looking to get their first driver's license to complete a safe driving classroom course as well as a driver training course.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training company such as Killeen Driving School and ask if they offer a Texas-approved  behind-the-wheel training course which would satisfy Texas's driver's education requirements.
Is there a law in Texas that requires me to take behind-the-wheel training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in Texas requires that all teen-agers successfully complete an approved driver training course before receiving a Texas driver's license.
Can I enroll in a Texas-approved behind-the-wheel training course even if I don't have my Texas instruction permit yet?
Most likely, no.  Most states have laws that mandate a pre-licensed driver to have obtained a Texas instruction permit before registering in a Texas behind-the-wheel training course.  It would be best for you to contact a driving school such as Killeen Driving School and ask for more information.
