Performance Driving ClubFAQ's

How do I know if Performance Driving Club is certified by Michigan's DMV to offer driver training courses?
While we do include Performance Driving Club's contact information in our driving school directory, we cannot say with certainty as to whether Performance Driving Club is certified by the State of Michigan.  We recommend that you either contact Performance Driving Club directly or possibly the Michigan DMV to find out if Performance Driving Club is a certified driver training school.
Is it true that my mom or dad can be my driving instructor when I do my driver training instead of a professional driving school instructor like the ones they have at Performance Driving Club?
It depends on what your state's laws are.  You should contact the Michigan DMV or a licensed driving school like Performance Driving Club to find out if Michigan allows behind-the-wheel training with a parent.
Do I need to tell Performance Driving Club that I need to train with an automatic-shift car? I don't know how to operate a manual-shift car.
Most new drivers don't know how to operate either a stick-shift OR and automatic-shift vehicle!  We recommend that you ask Performance Driving Club if you can complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift automobile before you enroll in their driver training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Performance Driving Club train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like Performance Driving Club will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
After I turn 14, will I be eligible to obtain my instruction permit so I can begin to learn how to drive?
It depends on which state you live in, however most states unfortunately require you to be at least 15 (or sometimes 15 1/2) before you can be issued a instruction permit.  We suggest that you contact a local driver training school such as Performance Driving Club or the Michigan DMV office to learn more about the minimum age requirement for driving in Michigan.
Do I have to complete a Detroit Michigan drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Performance Driving Club's behind-the-wheel training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a driver training course plus either a defensive driving classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Performance Driving Club if they offer one or both programs.
If I need to register for a Detroit Michigan behind-the-wheel training program, can Performance Driving Club help?
Yes.  Performance Driving Club offers behind-the-wheel training courses in Detroit Michigan.  For more information about the type of behind-the-wheel training Performance Driving Club offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What do I need to do to obtain a driver's license in Detroit Michigan?
It depends on Michigan's laws, but most states require new, teen-aged drivers to sign up to take a safe driving classroom course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.  You may want to call Performance Driving Club to see if they offer the driver training course that would fulfill the regulations set forth by the Michigan DMV.
Is a behind-the-wheel training course a prerequisite in Detroit Michigan for me to get a drivers license?
The law in Michigan requires that all drivers complete a behind-the-wheel training course as part of their driver education.  You should contact Performance Driving Club directly to find out about the types of courses they offer.
Is it possible to sign up to take a Michigan-approved behind-the-wheel training course before I obtain my Michigan instruction permit?
It depends on what the specific laws are in Michigan, however most states require first-time drivers to receive an instruction permit before registering for a behind-the-wheel training course.  We recommend you contact a driving school such as Performance Driving Club to obtain more information.
