Joe's Driving SchoolFAQ's

Can you tell me if Joe's Driving School is a licensed driver training school in California?
Although Joe's Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently approved to teach driver training courses in California.  We recommend either calling Joe's Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out whether or not Joe's Driving School offers hands-on driving courses that are state-approved.
Do you know if I can complete my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like Joe's Driving School?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the California DMV or Joe's Driving School directly to find out if California allows parent-taught driver training.
Do you know if Joe's Driving School will let me complete my behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a manual-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact Joe's Driving School and see if they can accommodate you before registering for their behind-the-wheel training course.
I don't live anywhere near a city. There are unpaved roads and bumpy terrain all around my house. How do I know if Joe's Driving School will train me on how to drive in a rural area like where I live and not just teach me how to drive in a town-or city-type environment?
Since Joe's Driving School is a local driver training company in your area, it's a safe bet that Joe's Driving School will be motivated (or perhaps required) to teach its local customers how to drive on rough terrain.  If you want to make certain, however, you may want to call Joe's Driving School to find out exactly what's included in their behind-the-wheel training course before you register with them.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to obtain a learner's permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to hold a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving instruction company like Joe's Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
I live in Glendora California. Does the law say I have to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a driver training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do mandate that new, teen-aged drivers register for both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .

Is hands-on driver training required in California in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
