Hollywood Driving SchoolFAQ's

Can you tell me if Hollywood Driving School is a certified driving school in California?
Although Hollywood Driving School is listed on our list of driving schools in your area, we are unable to say with certainty as to whether they are currently licensed to teach hands-on driving courses in California.  We recommend either calling Hollywood Driving School directly or the California DMV to find out whether or not Hollywood Driving School offers behind-the-wheel training courses that are state-approved.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught behind-the-wheel training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding hands-on driving instruction.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Hollywood Driving School have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Los Angeles California behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Hollywood Driving School know what your preference is before registering for their driver class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will Hollywood Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like Hollywood Driving School will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Are 14-year-olds permitted to obtain a instruction permit in California?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to receive an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school like Hollywood Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in California.
Do I have to take a Los Angeles California classroom or online drivers education course before I can register for a behind-the-wheel training course through Hollywood Driving School?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require new teen-aged drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a driver training course.  You should ask Hollywood Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
If I need to register for a Los Angeles California driver training program, can Hollywood Driving School help?
Yes.  Hollywood Driving School offers driving instruction in Los Angeles California.  For more information about the type of driver training Hollywood Driving School offers and the training schedule, you should contact them directly.
What are the prerequisites in Los Angeles California for obtaining a drivers license?
It depends on your state's laws, however in many states, teen-agers must complete both a safe driving classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Hollywood Driving School may offer an approved driver training course which you could take.  Please contact Hollywood Driving School for information regarding their available classes and how to go about registering for them.
What are the laws in California concerning driver training courses? Do I have to take one to get my driver's license?
Yes, you do.  California law states that new drivers enroll in an approved behind-the-wheel training course as a prerequisite to obtaining their first driver's license.
Will California allow me to enroll in a driver training course before I actually receive my instruction permit?
You will need to contact your state's DMV office to find out.  However, most states require that you obtain your learner's permit before you enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course.
