The Drivers Ed To Go exam consists of 35 questions, 10 which are traffic sign questions, and you must score at least an 80% to pass. If you do not pass the first time you may retake it right away until you do pass.
Does your course meet all Virginia DMV requirements?
The Virginia DMV will only allow you to substitute our Drivers Ed To Go course for a state approved course under special circumstances.
How long until I receive my certificate of completion from Driver Ed To Go?
It’s all up to you; it takes 3 to 5 business days for regular mail; however upon registering you can choose FedEx service to 2nd, 3rd or overnight your certificate of completion.
When can I start driving?
You must have a licensed driver 21 years of age or older in the passenger seat to start driving right away.
How long do I need to have my Virginia learners permit before I can get my Virginia drivers license?
If you are 19 years of age or under you must have had your permit for at least 9 months before you can take your drivers exam. If you are 19 years of age or older you must only have had your permit for 30 days before taking your drivers exam.
Am I required to do behind the wheel training in Virginia?
If you are under the age of 18 you must complete a professional driver’s education program that will require you to do behind the wheel training.
How many hours of supervised driving do I have to have before I can get my Virginia drivers license?
You have to complete 45 hours of behind the wheel training with a licensed adult 21 years of age or older. 15 of those hours must be night driving hours in order to take your driver’s license test.
Can my friends ride with me after I get my Virginia learners permit?
You may only have one passenger under the age of 18 with the exception of family members.
Can my friends ride with me after I get my Virginia drivers license?
You may only have one passenger under the age of 18 for at least a year once you receive your license. When you turn 18 you no longer have a restricted license.
Can I drive alone with my Virginia learners permit?

You must be accompanied by an adult 21 years of age or older for the first 9 months of having your learners permit, the licensed driver may be 18 years of age if they are your family member. After you have had your permit for 9 months and you are between ages 16 years 3 months, and 18 then you can drive alone except for the hours of midnight and 4 am. If you are under 18 and have your provisional drivers license you only need to be accompanies by an adult while driving between the hours of midnight and 4am, with the exception of emergencies, work or school.
