Utah Driver License Requirements at-a-glance:

*Driver education is required for teens under the age of 18-years-old.
*You must be at least 16-years-old to receive your learner’s permit.
*You must hold your learner’s permit for at least 6 months.
*You must be at least 16-years-old to receive your Utah driver’s license.
*If you’re 19, without drivers ed you must hold your permit for at least 90 days.
*You must complete 40 hours of supervised driving, including 10 hours at night.
*You must pay a $15 dollar learner’s permit fee.
*If you’re under 18, licensed drivers may not carry passengers under 18-years-old for the first six months without supervision.
*Until you’re 17, you can’t drive between midnight and 5am unless you have a licensed driver who is at least 21 in your passenger seat.

Step 1: Take our online Utah drivers education class.
Step 2: Finish the online course to get your Certificate of Completion which can be processed the very same day.
Step 3: After you’re 16, it’s time to schedule to take the official DMV written exam. We know you’re ready because there shouldn’t be anything on this test that wasn’t covered in our course.
Step 4: Successfully pass the written test! Now you’ve got your Utah learner’s permit. Hit the road with a qualified driving instructor and continue learning.
Step 5: Log all your required hours and maybe some extra ones, too.
Step 6: After six months, you can take the DMV driving test. Successfully pass and get your Utah license!
Step 7: Your education never stops. You should continue to learn how to be a better driver to safely enjoy the road!
