Nebraska Driver License Requirements at-a-glance:
Minimum Age for Learner Permit
15 years (applicant may apply at 14 years, 10 months)
Learner Permit holding Period
6 months
Minimum amount of supervised driving
50 hours, including 10 at night, with a licensed driver who's at least 21 years old. No supervised driving is required if taking drivers education.

Provisional license holders may not drive between 12 midnight and 6am unless commuting to or from work or school

Provisional license holders may only carry one (1) non-family passenger who's under 19 years of age during the first six (6) months after receiving license. During second six (6) months, holder may carry up to three (3) non-family passengers

At 14 years a student may apply for a School Learner Permit(LPE) to practice for their School Permit(SCP) only if they live 1 and a half miles from their school and reside outside a city of 5,000 or more, or attend school outside a city of 5,000 or more. Applicants must be at least 14 years and 2 months old.
