Southeast Community CollegeFAQ's

Is Southeast Community College licensed by the Nebraska DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
Although we include Southeast Community College in our directory of driving schools for Lincoln Nebraska, we cannot make any assurances about whether or not Southeast Community College is licensed by the Nebraska DMV.  You should contact Southeast Community College directly and ask them if you are thinking about registering for their Lincoln Nebraska driver training class.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required behind-the-wheel training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for taking a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
I don't know how to drive using a manual-shift. Will Southeast Community College have an automatic-shift car available that I can use for my driver training?
Since you're enrolling in a Lincoln Nebraska behind-the-wheel training class, chances are good that you don't know how to drive either a stick-shift OR an automatic!  However, you should let Southeast Community College know what your preference is before enrolling in their behind-the-wheel class.  That way you'll know for sure they will accommodate you.
The area in which I live is mostly undeveloped--very few paved roads and mountains are all around. Will Southeast Community College be able to teach me how to drive safely on bumpy terrain as well as in a city or town?
Considering that you live in a remote area, chances are excellent that a local driving school like Southeast Community College will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and other types of rugged terrain.  You may wish to contact Southeast Community College to find out exactly what their behind-the-wheel training course includes before signing up to take their training course.
Are 14-year-olds eligible to apply for a instruction permit in Nebraska?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the youngest age for which to hold an instruction permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Nebraska Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving instruction company like Southeast Community College to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Nebraska.
Will I be required to register for both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in Lincoln Nebraska?
It depends on which state you live in, but many states now require new teen-aged drivers to successfully complete both a drivers education course as well as a behind-the-wheel training course.
Nebraska's DMV has told me that I need to take a driver training course. Do you know if Southeast Community College offers this course or not?
Southeast Community College does offer the driver training course that Nebraska requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses Southeast Community College offers, we recommend that you contact Southeast Community College directly.
I live in Lincoln Nebraska. What are the requirements for me to be able to get my first Nebraska driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of Nebraska, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a drivers education classroom course and a behind-the-wheel training course.  Southeast Community College may offer courses which would meet the behind-the-wheel training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
Is hands-on driver training required in Nebraska in order to be licensed to operate a motor vehicle?
Absolutely.  All new drivers in Nebraska must enroll in an approved driver training course before they can get a license to independently drive a motor vehicle.
Will Nebraska allow me to register for a driver training course before I actually receive my learner's permit?
