Dominic Driving SchoolFAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the California DMV to offer driver training courses in California?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in California.  We suggest you contact the California DMV to make sure a particular driving school is certified before you register for their driver training course.
Do you know if I can complete my behind-the-wheel training with my mother or father instead of attending a driving school like Dominic Driving School?
Some states allow teen-agers to complete their driver training with their parents instead of attending a professional driver training school.  We recommend that you contact the California DMV or Dominic Driving School directly to find out if California allows parent-taught behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to operate a vehicle with a stick-shift? Does Dominic Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll allow me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a stick or an automatic, you probably should call Dominic Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will Dominic Driving School teach me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain area, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Dominic Driving School will include driving lessons specifically tailored to that terrain.
If I'm 14, can I get an instruction permit to drive in California?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get a learner's permit.  We recommend that you contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as Dominic Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in California.
I live in San Francisco California. Does the law say I have to enroll in both a drivers education classroom or online course and a behind-the-wheel training course in order to be fully-licensed here?
Each state has its own laws in regards to licensing procedures.  However, most states do require that new, teen-aged drivers enroll in both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education online course or drivers education classroom course .
Does Dominic Driving School provide a behind-the-wheel training course like the one that is required by the State of California? I need to sign up for one in order to obtain my driver license.
Dominic Driving School offers hands-on driver training courses which are approved by the California DMV.  You may want to contact Dominic Driving School directly for more information about their courses and how to go about registering for one.
What are the prerequisites in San Francisco California for getting a drivers license?
It depends on your state's laws, however in many states, teen-agers must complete both a drivers education classroom course and a driver training course.  Dominic Driving School may offer an approved driver training course which you could take.  Please contact Dominic Driving School for information regarding their available classes and how to go about signing up for them.
Is there a law in California that requires me to take driver training in order to get my driver's license?
Yes.  State law in California mandates that all teen-agers enroll in an approved driver training course before receiving a California driver's license.
Is it okay for me to enroll in a behind-the-wheel training class in California before I receive my California learners permit to drive?
Probably not.  Most states require first-time drivers to have their learners permit before they are allowed to register for a behind-the-wheel training program.  You should contact a driving instruction company like Dominic Driving School and request more information.
