The Driving CenterFAQ's

Are all the driving schools listed on your website fully-accredited by the Indiana DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Indiana?
The driving school directory on our website is for your convenience only, and we cannot absolutely guarantee that every driving school listed is currently licensed to offer driving training courses in Indiana.  We suggest you contact the Indiana DMV to make sure a particular driving school is accredited before you sign up to take their driving course.
Do you know if I can do my driver training with my mother or father instead of attending a behind-the-wheel training course like the ones offered by The Driving Center?
Some states allow teen-agers to do their behind-the-wheel training with their parents instead of attending a professional driving school.  We recommend that you contact the Indiana DMV or The Driving Center directly to find out if Indiana allows parent-taught driver training.
I have no clue how to drive a manual-shift vehicle. What happens if The Driving Center makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....manual OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your hands-on driver training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call The Driving Center and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for sure whether The Driving Center can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads everywhere. Will The Driving Center train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain community, chances are that a local driving school like The Driving Center will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Can 14-year-olds get learner's permits to drive in Indiana?
Most states have set the minimum age for applying for a learner's permit at 15 or 15 1/2.  However, some states do allow 14-year-olds to obtain an instruction permit.  You may want to contact the Indiana DMV or a Indiana-approved driver training school like The Driving Center to find out what the minimum age to drive is in Indiana.
Is taking a drivers education course in a classroom or online sufficient in Anderson Indiana or do I also have to register for a driver training class with a professional driving instructor?
It depends on what the Indiana's laws require, but many states do mandate that new, young drivers to successfully complete a behind-the-wheel training class with a professional driving instructor as well as a drivers education classroom or online course.
