Alert Driving SchoolFAQ's

Is Alert Driving School an approved driving school in Oklahoma?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in Oklahoma.  We highly recommend that you contact Alert Driving School directly or the Oklahoma DMV to find out for sure if Alert Driving School offers driver training courses that have been approved by the State of Oklahoma.
Could I just have my mother or father teach me how to drive instead of paying money to take a professional behind-the-wheel training course?
It depends on which state you live in.  There are some states which permit you to complete your hands-on driver training with a parent or guardian instead of enrolling in a professional driving school.  However many states require that first-time drivers take a professionally-taught driver training course.  We recommend that you ask your state's DMV office to find out if your parent or guardian can fill the role as your behind-the-wheel driving instructor.
What happens if I don't know how to drive a stick-shift vehicle? Will Alert Driving School allow me to do my driver training with an automatic-shift automobile?
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating any type of automobile--stick-shift or automatic-shift!  However, if you prefer to complete your behind-the-wheel training using an automatic-shift vehicle, you should contact Alert Driving School and let them know before you sign up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you will know for certain if they will accommodate you.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will Alert Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in the country, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Alert Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and bumpy terrain.  We recommend that you contact Alert Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
I just turned 14 years old. Can I apply for my learner's permit in Oklahoma?
