Rhodes Driving SchoolFAQ's

Rhodes Driving School is listed on your website as a driving school which offers behind-the-wheel training courses. How do I know if Rhodes Driving School is a licensed school in Texas?
While we include a list of driving schools on our website for your convenience, we cannot guarantee that every single one of them is currently licensed by the Texas DMV.  We suggest you contact Rhodes Driving School directly or the Texas DMV to find out if Rhodes Driving School is a fully-accredited driving school.
Do I have to take a behind-the-wheel training course? Can't my parents just give me my behind-the-wheel training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required behind-the-wheel training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
I have no clue how to drive a stick-shift vehicle. What happens if Rhodes Driving School makes me train on a manual-shift vehicle?
Considering the fact you are a brand new driver, you probably don't know much about operating ANY type of vehicle....stick OR automatic!  If you prefer to do your behind-the-wheel training with an automatic-shift vehicle, you may want to call Rhodes Driving School and let them know before you enroll in their behind-the-wheel training course.  That way you'll know for certain whether Rhodes Driving School can accommodate you before you pay them any money.
I live out in the middle of nowhere. There are rural and mountain roads all around. Will Rhodes Driving School train me how to drive in BOTH rural AND city areas?
If you live in a rural or mountain town, chances are that a local driving instruction institute like Rhodes Driving School will include behind-the-wheel driver training specifically tailored to that terrain.
Are 14-year-olds eligible to obtain a learner's permit in Texas?
Although a few states allow teen-agers to begin practicing how to drive at 14, most states have set the minimum age for which to receive a learner's permit at either 15 or 15½.  You will need to contact the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school like Rhodes Driving School to find out what the minimum age for driving is in Texas.
Do I have to take a San Antonio Texas classroom or online drivers education course before I can enroll in a behind-the-wheel training course through Rhodes Driving School?
This requirement varies by state but most states do require pre-licensed drivers to take BOTH a classroom-based driver education course (generally 30 hours in length) AND a behind-the-wheel training course.  You should ask Rhodes Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
