Moran Driving SchoolFAQ's

Since Moran Driving School appears on your website, does this mean they've been approved by the California DMV to offer behind-the-wheel training courses?
The list of driving schools on our webpage is provided as a convenience to our customers only.  We CANNOT guarantee that every single school listed is fully-approved by the California DMV.  You may want to call Moran Driving School directly to find out if they offer a state-certified behind-the-wheel training course.
Do I have to take a driver training course? Can't my parents just give me my driver training?
There are some states that do permit parents or guardians to provide their teen-aged kids' required driver training in order to obtain a driver's license.  However many states do not allow any type of substitution for attending a professionally-taught driver training course.  We suggest you contact your state's DMV to find out what the laws are in your state regarding behind-the-wheel training.
What if I don't know how to drive a vehicle with a manual-shift? Does Moran Driving School have an automatic-shift vehicle they'll let me train with?
Since you're just learning how to drive, you probably don't know how to operate either a manual-shift or an automatic-shift vehicle!  However, if you have a preference as to a manual or an automatic, you probably should call Moran Driving School to see if they can accommodate your request prior to your enrolling in their behind-the-wheel training course.
Since I live way out in a rural area where driving on unpaved roads and rugged terrain is the norm, will Moran Driving School be able to teach me how to drive in a non-urban environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a rural area, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as Moran Driving School will want you to be able to drive safely on unpaved roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact Moran Driving School directly to find out exactly what they offer.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in California?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a licensed driving school such as Moran Driving School to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in California.
Do I have to complete a Los Angeles California drivers education classroom course or online course before enrolling in one of Moran Driving School's driver training courses?
Each state has its own laws, but most states will require first-time drivers to take both a behind-the-wheel training course plus either a drivers education classroom course (which are about 30 hours in length) or an approved online defensive driving course.  You may want to ask Moran Driving School if they offer one or both programs.
