EDISON DRIVING SCHOOLFAQ's

Is EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL a licensed driving school in New Jersey?
Just because a driving school appears on our directory of driver training institutions, we cannot guarantee that they are fully licensed to offer behind-the-wheel training courses in New Jersey.  We highly recommend that you contact EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL directly or the New Jersey DMV to find out for sure if EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL offers hands-on driving courses that have been approved by the State of New Jersey.
Somebody told me that I can skip out of attending a driver training school if my parents give me behind-the-wheel training instead. Is that permissible in New Jersey?
Each state has its own laws regarding behind-the-wheel training.  Some states will allow parentally-supervised driver training as a substitute for taking a behind-the-wheel training course which is taught by a professional driving instructor.  However, not all states allow this.  You should contact the New Jersey DMV to find out for sure.
Do you know if EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL will let me take my driver training using an automatic-shift vehicle? I don't know anything about using a stick-shift.
Considering you're a brand new driver, you probably don't know a whole lot about driving ANY type of vehicle, be it a stick OR an automatic!  Nevertheless, if you have a preference, you probably should contact EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL and see if they can accommodate you before signing up to take their behind-the-wheel training course.
Since I live way out in a remote location where driving on unpaved roads and bumpy terrain is the norm, will EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL be able to teach me how to drive in a rural environment? Or do they only prepare you for city-driving?
Since you live in a rural area, odds are that any local driving school in your area such as EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL will want you to be able to drive safely on dirt roads and rugged terrain.  We recommend that you contact EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL directly to find out exactly what they offer.
If I'm 14, can I get a driver's permit to drive in New Jersey?
Possibly.  However, you should be aware that most states require you to be at least 15½ years old before you can get an instruction permit.  We recommend that you contact the New Jersey Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) or a certified driving school such as EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL to find out exactly what the minimum age requirement is in New Jersey.
Can I take EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL's driver training course before taking a EDISON New Jersey drivers education classroom course or online course?
It depends on what New Jersey's laws say.  However, you should know that most states will require teen-aged, first-time drivers to complete both a drivers education classroom course (which are approximately 30 hours in length, depending on New Jersey's laws) or an approved online course, plus a state-approved driver training course.  We recommend that you contact EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL directly to see if they offer either (or both) of these courses.
New Jersey's DMV has told me that I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course. Do you know if EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL offers this course or not?
EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL does offer the behind-the-wheel training course that New Jersey requires all new teen-aged drivers to take.  For more information about the courses EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL offers, we recommend that you contact EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL directly.
I live in EDISON New Jersey. What requirements must I meet to be able to get my first New Jersey driver's license?
It depends on the particular laws of New Jersey, but most states require teen-aged first-time license applicants to successfully complete both a safe driving classroom course and a driver training course.  EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL may offer courses which would meet the driver training requirement, however you will need to contact them directly to find out exactly what types of courses they offer.
I live in EDISON New Jersey and would like to apply for my first driver's license. Do I need to take a behind-the-wheel training course before I can be licensed?
New Jersey law mandates that all new drivers successfully complete an approved driver training program before receiving their New Jersey driver's license.  EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL may offer a driver training course that you are looking for.  Please contact EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL directly for complete information as to what types of behind-the-wheel training courses they offer.
Is it all right if I sign up with a behind-the-wheel training school like EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL prior to my obtaining my learner's permit?
In most states, you are required to have already gotten your instruction permit before you enroll in your driver training course like the one offered by EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL.  We suggest you contact either EDISON DRIVING SCHOOL to find out more information.
